I have had an ongoing thirst or quest for discovering how things are made. It has led me on a wonderful journey, exploring so many interesting mediums. I am fascinated with observing textures, colors, and shapes of the most ordinary things around me, whatever my surroundings. EX; old walls, construction materials, wall and fabric colors and designs, natural forms and found objects, rocks and feathers, bark , leaves and seeds. I love to collect seeds. They generally go unnoticed by most, except for the ones we eat. Many are almost microscopic and some can be as big as your hand, like a coconut. They make me wonder! And they fill me with wonder- at the world we live in and its marvelous design. Each seed is filled with its highest potential. Just like each of us.
As a result of this I must say I am never bored! While traveling or having to wait for others or on walk by myself, my surroundings never fail to intrigue me. I enjoy the art of contemplation and observation. This is where inspiration comes from for my art work. I work intuitively. I love the discoveries and surprises this way of working brings about. I guess it is a Zen approach to creativity. If you can bring your self to a place of stillness, and be in your artist’s heart, you will find the core of your artistic self. When I work from a quiet place in my mind, the creative expressions that come about are a translation of my life experiences. This is the great adventure that fires my artistic endeavors.
