"Having been born and raised in Colorado, I enjoy incorporating native clays and materials in my work.  My forms are influenced by indigenous architectural structures, farm machinery and working vessels, such as granaries and oil cans.  My interest in salt fired stoneware stems from years of studying and collecting historic salt fired pots from Europe and North America.  Other influences include Asian ceramics, and architectural and natural land forms.  The objective of my work is to unite traditional processes with contemporary color and form, resulting in a unique statement in clay."
